Prescott Valley to increase water recharge capacity
A presentation by Prescott Valley Water Resources Manager John Munderloh during the Thursday, July 12 Town Council meeting outlines a contract Prescott Valley will enter into with Southwest Groundwater Consultants to optimize Prescott Valley's effluent water recharge capacity. Currently 700 to 800 acre feet per year is discharged from the Town's Advanced Treatment Plant that is not credited as recharge by the Arizona Department of Water Resources. Prescott Valley will install two injection wells to meet the need for more recharge capacity and allow the Town to receive additional recharge credits. Also, Munderloh speaks about Prescott Valley's future water supply in light of this summer's Level 2 Water Conservation Alert.
